Check
Scene list checker
Paste a scene list or choose a file, and see which rows are missing a source, a rights record, an approver or a date.
This tool checks whether your records are complete. It does not tell you whether you may use a work; that is a legal question.
Your list stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
Columns: scene, description, source, rights, approver, date, in any case. Comma, semicolon or tab between cells. Up to 1 MB and 2,000 rows. Ctrl + Enter checks the list.
What it reads
- A CSV list with a header row, cells separated by commas, semicolons or tabs, or a JSON list of rows.
- The columns
scene, description, source, rights, approveranddate. Their names may be in any case; other columns are ignored. - Dates written as YYYY-MM-DD, for example 2026-03-14.
- Up to 1 MB and 2,000 rows at a time.
The rules
A row that triggers any rule is flagged. Flagged rows are listed first, each with the rules it triggered.
MISSING_SCENENo sceneThe scene column is empty, so the row cannot be told apart from the others.DUPLICATE_SCENEScene listed twiceThe same scene appears on more than one row (ignoring case and spaces at the ends). Every such row is flagged.MISSING_SOURCENo sourceNothing says where the picture or sound comes from.MISSING_RIGHTSNo rights recordNothing says on what terms it is used.RIGHTS_UNCLEARRights unclearThe rights record is a placeholder: unknown, unclear, ?, tbd, n/a, na, none, pending, bilinmiyor or belirsiz.MISSING_APPROVERNo approverNobody is named as having checked the record.MISSING_DATENo dateThe record has no date.INVALID_DATEDate not in YYYY-MM-DDThe date is not a real calendar date written as YYYY-MM-DD, for example 2026-03-14.

The download
- The results download as a CSV file made in your browser, with the line, the result and the rules of every row.
- A cell that starts with =, +, - or @ gets a ' in front, so a spreadsheet shows it as text instead of running it as a formula.
